Got some recognition from the Atlantis Resort in Puerto Galera, Philippines recently. I was named one of the Photographers of the Month, ad had a couple of my photos featured in the May, 2008 Resort Newsletter. Thanks, Atlantis!

The latest Oregon trip….

We spent a few days recently in Oregon, visiting Jean's brother James and his family…..
James and Lisa are the founders of Springhouse Cellar winery, and have been making wine for the past few years at their home in mosier, Oregon, just east of Hood River. They have now decided that the time has come for them to go big time. They recently purchased a building in downtown Hood River, located right adjacent to the Hood River Scenic Railway station. And a great location it is! While we were there, starting to get things ready for moving wine and equipment in, there were a surprising number of people who stopped by to see when they were going to open officially.

The building used to be n antique mall, where there were a number of vendors inside selling their antiques. James and Lisa have it all planned out (as is their way…they're very organized people, being actuaries, actually), and there will be space for wine storage, production, a tasting room and of course, sales. The building has huge potential, and based on the sheer size of it, James and Lisa can certainly expand their operation in years to come.

The photo above shows just one part of the bar that will be installed in the tasting room. It is about 5 inches thick, about 15 feet long, and 2 feet wide and it's made from one solid piece of wood. Can you say "belly up to the bar"?
Needless to say, James is pretty pumped about the whole project, and really enjoys the new forklift. Hey, what's a winery without a forklift, anyway?

Better late than never…I finally got the time to complete the processing of my photos from my recent trip to the Philippines. The photos are in the album section, and the trip report(s) are in the trip report section…..nothing like going on a long trip, getting sick on the way home, then working for 10 days, then heading off for another trip. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, rough life, some might say.

We're back from the Bahamas, where we dove on the AquaCat liveaboard vessel. The AquaCat has it's home port in Nassau, and sails around the Exuma chain of islands. There were 22 divers aboard, 17 in our group. You can read the entire trip report under the Trip Report section…duh!
